Glowing Skin – Smooth Skin Tips

Glowing Skin – Smooth Skin Tips

Do you suffer from oily skin? Have you tried all of the brand name oily skincare products, which didn’t cure your greasy skin?

Follow these 5 tips and you will soon be on your way to a smooth, glowing and oil free complexion.

1. Hydrate Yourself – Drink More Water

I can’t stress this enough – drinking plenty of water will do more for your oily skin that almost anything else I suggest!

2. Antioxidant Rich Food – Eat More of It

Your skin needs antioxidants to fight free radical skin damage. Start with delicious and nutritious blueberries as they are chock full of antioxidants and taste superb too!

3. Stop Eating So Much Crap

They say that you are what you eat, and if all you eat is fast food, deep fried and sugary snacks, then your skin will be oily.

4. Exercise Regularly

One of the best ways to clear out your pores is to exercise regularly. This isn’t a commonly suggested oily skin care tip but sweating a lot will remove all the dirt and grime that builds up in your skin, which causes the greasy complexion.

I like to do short, explosive interval sprints, but you can do whatever you like as long as it gets you sweating.

5. Use Natural Skin Care Products

Sometimes, you do all of the above and it’s just not enough. Your greasy skin persists. In that case, you should start looking for natural oily skincare products.

These 5 time saving makeup tips can help any woman speed up their morning makeup application routine

makeup application routineMany women are fed up with their old makeup and extensive morning routine. They wish that they could ditch their exhaustive beauty habits and switch to something easier and quicker without losing their put together look. Following these five simple tips can enhance a woman’s natural beauty in just minutes without the usual hours of primping and polishing.

Use a Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
The first step in any beauty routine should always be to moisturize the skin. Using a tinted moisturizer with SPF will kill three birds with one stone, making the makeup process faster. First, moisturized skin will be more supple and look fresher then dry skin which will in turn lay a better foundation for any makeup that is later applied.

Second, the tint in the moisturizer acts as a light cover up and will hide any subtle imperfections on the skin. Third, and most importantly, the SPF will provide protection from the sun throughout the day and will help prevent wrinkles and damaged skin in the future. If necessary, a heavier cover up or a concealer pencil and spot conceal and major blemishes or redness on the face.

Apply a Translucent Powder
Translucent powders can be found in loose or compacted form and in almost any shade, but they all serve the same purpose, to balance out skin tone and set the makeup. Powder is nearly undetectable on the skin and can help create a flawless foundation. It is crucial in the process of makeup application, but it takes only seconds to use.

Use a Cream Blush for Long Lasting Effect
Powder blush has long been the standard, but cream blush is the key to this speedy routine. It will give the face a natural flushed glow and leave it looking and feeling hydrated. It is also longer lasting then powder blush, which saves time that was once wasted in re-applications throughout the day.

Curl Eyelashes and Apply a Quick Layer of Mascara
Everyday eye makeup does not need to be overly exaggerated. A quick curl of the lashes and a layer of mascara will do the trick. Curling the lashes will make the eyes looks wider and brighter. In view of saving time it is suggested that any curling is done before putting on mascara so that time is not wasted waiting for it to dry completely. Mascara is only needed on the top lashes. An easy stroke or two of the lash wand and presto, the eyes are done!

Use a Tinted Lip Balm With SPF
Lips need sun protection too. A tinted balm with SPF will moisturize and protect lips and also give them subtle and natural color. For a little more glam, a thin layer of gloss can be applied to the top of that if desired.

Utilizing these suggestions only takes about five minutes, but will leave a girl looking like she spent hours! With these five tips busy women can speed up their morning makeup ritual and still look beautiful.

Makeup Tips to Hide Wrinkles

Nobody wants them, and yet they continue to show up year after year just like the in-laws at Thanksgiving.

Wrinkles may be a definite part of getting older, but we don't have to like them -- and we don't have to show them off either. With a few simple makeup tips, you can hide those annoying lines and finally look as young as you feel!

Makeup Tip #1 -- Always start with a good moisturizer to help your foundation glide on smoothly. No matter what your age, it's still important to protect your skin from the sun, so choose a moisturizer that contains a minimum SPF of 15. Also, one with light-diffusing properties will make your skin glow and appear brighter and smoother.

Makeup Tip #2 -- Don't skip the foundation. Yes, it can get into the creases around your eyes and mouth, but only if you choose the wrong one. Pick a shade that matches your skin tone exactly and apply it lightly and evenly after your moisturizer.

Makeup Tip #3 -- As an alternative to foundation, you can also try a tinted or glowing moisturizer. They provide a touch of color which is easy to apply uniformly. And because it's not as thick as traditional foundations, you don't have to worry about it calling attention to any wrinkles. A tinted moisturizer will also save you time in the morning because it combines the moisturizing step and foundation step into one.

Makeup Tip #4 -- Another variation from cream foundations is a loose mineral powder. These tend to work best on normal to oily skin -- with dry skin, powder can sit on top of the skin and look unnatural. It's best to apply with a large brush or powder puff and go lightly.

Makeup Tip #5 -- Aging inevitably brings on uneven skin tones. If you have areas of darker pigmentation, try a product with hydroquinone, which is a lightening agent. This works by increasing the breakdown of melanin pigment granules in the skin's pigment cells which can even out your complexion.

Hairstyles for Thin Hair

Hairstyles for Thin Hair
When people think of thin hair, the first thing that comes to their mind is the hair falling off and the person getting bald. However, thin hair does not necessarily mean that the hair is falling off. It can simply mean hair which is not thick, and the patterns of the hair being smooth and silky. Such fine thin hair can even be in a large quantity. Even though the hair is in substantial amounts, just because they are thin, you may get an appearance that you have got thinning hair. If we think about cool women hairstyles for thin hair, a general view would be hairstyles that involve keeping the hair relaxed.

Best Hairstyles for Thin Hair - Women

If you are thinking of cute hairstyles for thin hair, probably the best option is to keep the hair relaxed to move freely. In this way you can show off your fine hair to the maximum. Another good option is to have the traditional bob cut on silky fine hair. A bob haircut certainly attracts attention to the facial features, making the face look more beautiful. If you have long hair, and want to keep them relaxed, a good choice would be to go in for bangs.

Experiment with straight or sweeping bangs as per your face shape and preferences. Updos are suitable for long and medium hair, as they get a good volume of hair on the crown and on the back. For women with short haircuts, a pixie cut is one of the best choices. You can also wear curls at the end of medium or long hair. For silky medium hair, a reverse bob is most appropriate and as well voguish. This hairdo consists of medium hair cut short at the back and the hair at the cheeks kept a bit longer. Wearing bangs on a reverse bob is all up to you. Read more on haircuts with bangs.

Best Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

Every girl dreams for that perfect skin for every season, but not all of us have such luck. Finding the best makeup for oily skin is a struggle, most of us go through in order to look our best. Checking for oil-free products, stocking up on blotting paper, and worrying about getting pimples can be so tiring, at times. But one good news for people having oily skin is that it doesn't show early signs of skin aging. On that good note, why not look for the best makeup for oily skin!

Oily skin is nothing but excess oil produced by the sebaceous glands, which cause the skin to have large pores, acne, whiteheads and blackheads, oily appearance, and dullness. The skin tends to be shiny, thick, and has embarrassing blemishes. The oils tend to ooze out from the enlarged pores. The causes of oily skin can be heredity, hormone levels, pregnancy, humidity or hot weather, birth control pills, or certain cosmetics.

What is the Best Makeup for Oily Skin?

Before finding the best face makeup for oily skin, let's see how you can take some easy home remedies to get that beautiful skin. It's important to drink at least 8 glasses of pure water per day. This helps keep the skin hydrated and will make it shine less. Use of cucumber juice or witch hazel on face maintains the pH levels of skin. Use water-based foundations and blotting paper for oily skin care.

Best Foundation Makeup for Oily Skin
There are cosmetic companies that make skin-tone specific foundations. Make sure to get a high-quality foundation makeup for oily skin that doesn't aggravate or clog your pores, and evens out the appearance of your skin. Here are some tips that will help you pick the best foundation makeup for oily skin.

Foundation sticks
Always buy foundation that is one tone lighter than your skin tone. This will give a natural look to your makeup. Foundation sticks cover up the blotchy look and can hold for long hours.

Mineral foundation
Don't use mineral foundations during winters. This season is generally dry and the mineral foundation will make your skin look dry and oily at certain areas. Liquid foundations with mineral powder can be one way to escape from such issues. The foundation should be 100% pure minerals. Here's some more information about mineral makeup for oily skin.

Foundation powder
Instead of using a liquid foundation, powder foundations are much more effective. They stay in place and absorb excess oils from the skin.

Foundation with SPF
If you choose to go with any liquid foundations, check the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) on the label. The number indicates how many hours the SPF lasts. There are many foundations with SPF 15 and SPF 30 available in the market. That is a big bonus for foundations because it provides maximum coverage for your skin. Choose which works best for oily skin tone.

Check for full-coverage matte foundations, rather than light or medium coverage foundations which won't be long lasting for oily skin. Check the ingredients on the foundations that says "For oily skin". Don't use your fingers to apply the foundation, only use a make-up sponge. This will prevent from spreading more oil onto your face.

Tips to Select the Best Makeup for Oily Skin
  • Buy foundations that contain titanium dioxide, a natural sun protector.
  • Avoid products that have alcohol in them, especially SD40.
  • Kaolin clay used in foundations will prevent excess oil formation on your face.
  • Zinc oxide foundation is the best makeup for acne-prone skin, as it is anti-inflammatory.
  • To get the best makeup for oily skin, make sure it contains sericite, which reduces the appearance of large pores and helps to absorb excess oil.
Make sure to talk to a dermatologist, before starting any skin regimen or selecting the best makeup for oily acne prone skin. Accutane or topical retinoids are derivatives of vitamin A, that have been proven to lessen the amount of oil the skin produces. Read more on acne control.

At-Home Remedies for Oily Skin Care
  • Cleanse your face daily with cleansing milk, at least twice a day.
  • Moisturize with an oil-free lotion that contains SPF 15.
  • Use blotting paper to absorb excess oils. You can also use it, while you have makeup on.
  • If you must use a soap to wash your face, use sulfur soap.
  • Avoid eating too much oily foods.
  • A diet rich in proteins, plenty of green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits.
  • Knowing how to take care of your skin and which products to use will not only be beneficial for now, but also in the long run. Use as little foundation makeup for oily skin as possible, it will last longer and won't look heavy as if it's caked on. Only you can decide which is the best makeup for oily skin and implement it into your daily routine.

Makeup Tips for Round Faces - The best eye makeup for round face shapes

The best eye makeup for round face shapes

Professionals say that round face shape requires vertical lines to make it look more oval. Your eyebrows has to be in proportion with your facial features and highly arched brows can elongate your face very well.
Angled eyebrows can nicely counterbalance your round face shape. Apply a lighter eyeshadow from your lid to the brow line. A darker eyeshadow should then be applied above the crease of your eye, to make it seem higher.

Don’t forget to apply the eyeshadow in an outward motion, extending a bit past the end of your eyelashes. Apply the eyeliner starting from the inner corner, towards the outer corner of your eye and sweep the line up slightly, for a slight cat eyes makeup look. Proceed similarly on the lower eyelid as well, but draw the line only to the middle of your eye.
As a finishing touch, volume boosting mascara, emphasizing the eyelashes on the outer corner of your eyes.

Makeup And Styles - Long Curly Haircut Hairstyles

What Would You Choose For Long Curly Hairstyles?
Often have I noticed friends who have had curly hairs curse their fates! I have never understood why they had to feel bad or irritated over having curly hair that too, long. The long curly tresses suited them so well it was just a matter of fact of styling them properly. It is true that curly hair can develop more frizzes and puffs if they are not taken care of properly compared with normal straight hair.

Hairstyle Haircuts Fashion 2010:Long Curly Haircut

As they say, the grass on the other side looks green. That’s how people with straight hair feel as they long for curly hair and vice-versa. Women with naturally long curly hair need not work hard on their hairstyles by using curling irons. They just need to approach a hairdresser who can cut their hair neatly and provide a nice esthetical hairstyle. The naturally curly hair needs to be cut into different layers so they don’t frizz. Once that is done then a neat look is given according to what the woman wants. Half updos or even full updos are possible.

Hairstyle Haircuts Fashion 2010:Long Curly Hairstyle

When long straight hair needs to be curled up, then curling irons can be used based upon the amount of bend a woman wants. Some women choose to just curl up the locks while leaving the top part of the tresses straight. Some even try getting their hair curled like the hair of African women. Rollers and curling irons of different sizes can be used to achieve long curly hair. The different sections of the hair are twirled to achieve the desired amount of curls.

Many celebrities with normal hair just focus on creating wavy curls on the locks. The long cu
rly hairstyle with a centre partition has looked nice on some actresses like Jamison Shaw.

For those of you who have always wanted a fringe but do not know how to go about it, you have come to the right place. I will be sharing several fringe haircuts with all of you today so you can look stylish and modern.
Although fringe haircuts isn't something new, it must be noted that all hairstyles and fashion is a cycle. The last time fringe haircuts was in was in the 80s where curly, frizzed and teased up fringes were the order of the day. After a break, the fringe/bangs are back in style and taken the fashion industry by storm!

Basically, fringe or bangs involve the hair being cut above the forehead in a specific manner to allow the hair to be combed forward with fringes/bangs. The traditional fringe haircut is simply straight with the length of the fringe just slightly above the eye. However, modern fringes come in many flavors and styles; side-swept, blunt, full fringes and some even covering the eyes.
Those of you who have curly-wavy hair can also have natural fringes by leaving the curls
-waves to form its natural fringes/bangs. You might have to maintain the fringes in shape with occasional trims along with other hair care products.

The Real Cost Of Cosmetic Surgery

The Real Cost Of Cosmetic SurgeryT he field of cosmetic surgery has some pretty slick advertising and salespeople. This should come as a surprise to no-one except the most naive. However, what that means to the customer is that very frequently the real cost of the treatment is misrepresented. A surgical procedure that is promoted as being a certain price can often turn out to have untold hidden costs. Time and time again people listen to the sales pitch, and only when it feels too late to back out do they find out about the "extras".

This is most particularly the case when the prospective patient is trying to find the more affordable options. Each practitioner vies to quote the most attractive price, and so as to seemingly undercut each other’s prices, the quotation very often includes only the cosmetic surgery itself.

This practice, while misleading, is quite legal. It is similar to what the budget airlines do, where you are charged extra fees for online check-in, purchasing with a credit card, baggage allowance and tax.

So what are the "extras" that will make up the real cost of your cosmetic surgery?

Don’t be deceived, these are not "optional" extras, they are all essential, and fairly expensive. The first item that a cosmetic surgeon may have left off your quote is the anaesthetist fee. This is obviously a necessity, and is quite a heavy charge, as the procedure in itself is quite specialised.

Another of these added expenses is often the hospital fees. Your quote was just for the surgery? Then there’s a good chance you may have to stump up the cash for the usage of the cosmetic clinic.

If the surgery is likely to require an overnight stay at the clinic, then you should make sure that this is factored into the cost for your cosmetic surgery. And if it is not, then what if there are any complication, that require you to stay in the clinic for observation.

It is not unheard-of for the patient to receive a bill for even minor items, such as the surgical vest!

Probably most importantly, will you need to pay more if something goes wrong, and remedial surgery is required? Many surgeons do not automatically include any revision work in their bills, so you could be in for a nasty shock if your breast implant needs to be removed.

All of these need to be added up, to do an effective cost comparison between different quotes for cosmetic surgery. What seems the cheapest option is often not the cheapest option at all. Always view cosmetic surgery costs with a healthy dose of sceptism, and you will not go far wrong!

Skin Care Tips for Oily Skin Type

When taking care of oily skin type, special attention should be paid to cleansing to prevent or minimize most of oily skin related problems. However do not over-cleanse or use too harsh products - this may strip your skin of oil and encourage oil glands to work overtime to make up for it.

Do not use bar soaps and hot water in attempt to dissolve and get rid of all of the oil on the skin surface and in the pores. This may result in dehydration of the skin and irritation. Use a mild cleanser with no addition of oil, waxes or any other lipid agent that can worsen the oily condition of the skin. Another good idea for oily skin is to use a cleanser with salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid that reduces sebum (skin oil) production and will help you to combat break outs. Also it can be beneficial if your cleanser has antibacterial properties/ingredients. Oily skin prone to break outs will also benefit from a toner with antiseptic.

Moisturizing:
To counteract any dryness or dehydration that might result from deep cleansing of the oily skin use a light oil-free moisturizer. You may also try an anti-imperfection moisturizer but use it only if it is not too drying for your skin. Avoid any ingredients that can clog pores and aggravate acne such as cocoa butter, olive oil, corn oil, acetylated lanolin, butyl sterate and any other comedogenic ingredients (ingredients that tend to clog pores and cause acne).

If your moisturizer does not come with sun protection, use a sunscreen, preferably gel type, that has minimum SPF of 15.

Diet:
The main recommendation for a diet would be to keep to a low-fat diet. Avoid oily foods: pork or foods cooked with too much oil. Also avoid highly seasoned foods.

Sensitive skin has to be treated with special care

Sensitive skin has to be treated with special care. First of all, you need to understand what triggers sensitivity and exclude or minimize the trigger-factors.

Try to avoid or minimize the following sensitizing factors:

1. colorant and fragrance in your skin care products as well as in shampoos and deodorants

2. allergens such as honey or citruses (applied topically)

3. aggressive cleansing and peeling products such as based on AHA-acids

4. skincare products containing alcohol

5. anti-aging products containing retinol

6. beauty procedures that can be traumatizing for your skin such as mesotherapy and microdermabrasion

7. direct and long UV light exposure

8. Extreme temperatures either hot (e.g. sauna, solarium) or cold

9. Excess of alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, spicy and salty food

General rules for taking care of sensitive skin:

1. Use very mild cleanser. With sensitive skin it is better to cleanse your face several times than use a stronger and more abrasive product just once.
2. Trust the experts to exfoliate your skin or use a very mild exfoliating product. It is very hard to select an exfoliator, be it a mechanical scrub or enzyme product, that would not damage sensitive skin.
3. Moisturize religiously. Sensitive skin tends to lose moisture. And moisture is a key condition to having healthy balanced skin.
4. Protect your skin from UV light at any season. Due to impaired barrier function sensitive skin is especially susceptible to free radical damage from UV light.

What if I tell you that there was a certain makeup that can actually make you achieve all of those things, well there is and it has been around for 30 years and it is called Mineral makeup.

Mineral make up is gaining more and more popularity when men and women are finding out that this makeup that is made up of all natural minerals finely grounded from the earth. It does not contain preservatives, chemical dyes, perfumes, talc, alcohol and other not-so-good stuff found in traditional make up.

The most popular sayings about mineral make up is that most people love its light and natural feel and the long lasting glow that it creates for their face, and they feel like they are not wearing a mask or cakes of makeup. Mineral makeup is used mostly by women and men that have sensitive skin and that are prone to acne and rosacea. Mineral make up works wonders for these special types of skin making this an essential makeup of choice.

How Effective is Mineral Make up

mineral makeupMineral makeup consists of triple milled minerals like titanium, gold, zinc, magnesium and alumium. These special minerals are great for skin, because they do not enhance wrinkles. It is also known that mineral make up has a SPF rating of 15 for sun protection due to the high content of zinc oxide and titanium, making it a great way to wear sun block for the face. Mineral makeup is also hypoallergenic and will not clog your pores. It also nourishes the skin and is very easy to apply and remove. Mineral makeup may not be for everyone and some people have different reactions to certain types of makeup and certain types of minerals. It is best if you try different types of make-up to see what is right for you, the most popular form of mineral makeup is blushes and powder foundations. If first wrinkles appear, what should we do?

The first sign of ageing is when we notice our skin losing its suppleness and the first wrinkles start to appear.

With age our skin loses its elasticity and no longer flexes as it should, creating those inevitable wrinkles we all dread so much. Age spots also start to appear, due to the thinning down of our skin, especially around the eyes and on our hands.

For those who already suffer from the consequences of age and skin damage due to repeated exposure to outdoor elements, there are remedies that can work extremely well to attenuate problems such as wrinkles and age spots
.
If used regularly deep wrinkle cream can work wonders on wrinkles and dry, rough skin. Unfortunately some of us are not up to persistence and patience and opt for more drastic measures, such as plastic surgery or laser treatments. These professional treatments are obviously very expensive, and are not always that effective for solving problems such as age spots and wrinkles.

A large majority of us cannot afford these expensive professional treatments to begin with, so it is best to turn to regular but specific products, such as deep wrinkle creams, serums and lotions, which are very effective on the aging process of our skin and on the long term are equal to any other surgical intervention.

If you are faced with the problem of deep wrinkles, you can find the adapted deep wrinkle cream for you case.

There are many different types of products that treat lighter or deeper wrinkles, so you can find the specific one for your case. There is no need to spend thousands on expensive surgery to recover your youth, apart from the exaggerated expense; these treatments can actually cause damaging side effects, such as scaring discoloration. Another unfortunate issue is the addiction these treatments cause. People who start using laser therapy or plastic surgery have to go back for regular treatments, either because the treatment was not done properly or because the skin suddenly becomes slack when the surgical effects wear off. If people who have had plastic surgery do not go back for treatment they risk ending up with a disfigured face.

Some people are skeptical as to whether deep wrinkle cream actually works, and will be pleased to discover that these products are very effective indeed. Obviously you need to be patient and diligently apply these deep wrinkle creams regularly for them to be successful. On the long term the effects are quite remarkable and most people are very pleased with the results.

When deep wrinkle cream is applied on the skin it provides the necessary nutrients to re-stabilize the skin's natural properties.

Vitamins and other nutrients penetrate deeply into the skin restoring all lost elements and giving the skin a more supple and youthful texture. As the skin becomes more elastic, the wrinkles gradually lessen and eventually disappear completely.

Even people with very deep wrinkles will find these deep wrinkle cream product very effective, for their purpose is to re-generate the cells under the skin's surface, and unlike other regular moisturizers, these creams actually mend the damaged layers of skin.

How to Make a Vitamin C Anti Aging Serum

One of the most powerful anti-aging vitamins is vitamin C. A potent anti aging serum, vitamin C boosts collagen production, repairs existing sun damage, and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Making your own vitamin C skin care products ensures the best results. Vitamin C is unstable and oxidizes quickly, meaning it has a very short self life. Since most vitamin C serum costs $20 and up and oxidize before consumers are half way through the bottle, it is both frugal and better for your skin to make your own anti aging serum. Making a vitamin C serum is easy to do with some basic supplies. The recipe below will yield an anti aging serum of 10% strength.

 Instructions

  1. Step 1
Purchase the L-ascorbic acid form of Vitamin C. L-ascorbic acid can be found online and in health food stores. Do not buy vitamin C tablets as these often have fillers that you don't want to put on your skin. Check the Resources section for online suppliers.

  2. Step 2
Buy either pure glycerin, KY jelly, or a mild non-allergenic face lotion to act as the base for the vitamin C serum. These items can usually be found in drugstores, but there are links to online suppliers in the Resources section.

  3. Step 3
Buy some distilled water to dissolve the Vitamin C in. This can be found at grocery and drug stores.

  4. Step 4
Mix 1/4 teaspoon of the Vitamin C with 1 teaspoon of distilled water in a cup or small glass bowl.

  5. Step 5
Stir the mixture until the Vitamin C dissolves. If necessary place the cup or bowl in a larger bowl of warm water to dissolve any remaining granules.

  6. Step 6
Add 1 teaspoon of the base (glycerin, KY jelly, or lotion) and mix.

  7. Step 7
Spread the Vitamin C Anti Aging Serum on your face and go to bed, washing it off the next morning.

  8. Step 8
Keep any extra serum in a dark container and store it in the fridge. Consider throwing it away altogether just to be on the safe side because Vitamin C really oxidizes very fast and it's probably better to make the serum fresh every time.

Mineral Makeup vs Traditional Foundation

Mineral makeup is the latest trend in cosmetics. It is sold from department store counters, championed on late night infomercials and touted in fashion magazines. How do the various brands differ, and which one is best for you? How does mineral makeup differ from traditional products? Let's take a look.

Despite different brand names and marketing strategies, most mineral makeup has remarkably similar ingredients. Some commonly used minerals include micronized titanium dioxide, micronized zinc oxide, iron oxide, silk mica, and hydrated silica.

Micronized titanium dioxide, a common ingredient in sun block products, is particularly suited to protect skin from damaging sunlight. This white mineral's crystalline structure naturally reflects and defuses the sun's harmful rays. Micronized zinc oxide works in combination with the micronized titanium dioxide to reflect the sunlight's dangerous UVA and UVB rays.

Iron oxide is found in nature in red, orange and yellow hues. These pigments are blended into flesh tones for mineral foundations. Silk mica and hydrated silica soften the mineral compounds for use on the skin. Silk Mica gives mineral makeup a smooth texture, and hydrated silica binds the minerals to make them less messy. Individual brands may add secondary ingredients, such as vitamins, extra skin softeners or stronger pigments to neutralize skin tone.

Mineral makeup can counteract a host of familiar challenges. People prone to allergies or with sensitive skin will find mineral makeup contains no irritating dyes or perfumes. They do not use talc and other fillers that can be harmful to the skin. The acne-prone will find mineral makeup is organic, hypoallergenic and oil free; it will not clog pores like some conventional cosmetics.

Unlike traditional cosmetics, mineral foundations can provide sheer to full coverage. A light, sheer finish can be accomplished by moving the applicator brush in small circles on the face. Mineral makeup can also provide a more opaque texture if applied in layers with a damp sponge, much like you would apply liquid foundation. Fortunately, the consistency of mineral makeup gives coverage without the thick, unnatural, pore-clogging consequences of traditional liquid foundation.

Although mineral makeup has been a fixture in high-end department stores and specialty cosmetics shops for several years, a handful of more economical options are now on the market in drugstores. Consumers can expect to pay $25 for upscale mineral makeup brands, while drugstore mineral makeup from Neutrogena and Physician's Formula range from $9-$12.

With so little variation in actual ingredients, the difference in brands is often limited to marketing strategy. Many brands cater to a specific skin type. For example, Mineralogie claims their mineral makeup is suited to those with oily skin, because it does not include minerals that give other brands a shimmery finish.

So to avoid the embarrassment, get one that is good even if it costs a small amount more that what you are used to buying.

Mineral makeup has revolutionized the cosmetics trade even if it's been around since the 1970's. This is often the first of its kind that doesn't use any harmful substances since it is all natural therefore you are positive to appear sensible from resources that are pure from the earth.

It's additionally great to use if you suffer from acne, eczema or any different skin condition as a result of it does not contain the same quantity of ingredients found in traditional create-up.
